Soul Food Poetry Cafe Love Letters Vol. III
As I sat down to write this blog post, I found myself reminiscing about whether it’s been two or three years since I first joined the team at Soul Food Poetry Cafe. My role in Public Relations for their incredible shows at City Winery Nashville has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
Working on this project is like diving headfirst into a world of creativity and connection. The live performances, the wine, the poetry—it’s an experience that never disappoints. Each event feels like a dream brought to life. I often think about my younger self, daydreaming of being in a place like New York City, dancing and vibing to live music, feeling the soul of the instruments, and sharing a once-in-a-lifetime moment with everyone around me. That magic is exactly what Imani Rhema has created at City Winery. It’s a joy not only to witness it but also to help shape how that story is shared with the world.
Last year was particularly special. We showcased the perfect blend of live poetry and music when Imani teamed up with Quentin Michael Music for an unforgettable performance on Channel 4 News. Over the years, we’ve shared Soul Food Poetry Cafe’s story with platforms like This is Nashville, Tennessee Tribune, Urbaanite, 92Q, and more. Each collaboration has brought new layers to the vibrant narrative that makes SFPC such a cultural treasure.
This year, my goal is to weave an even richer story. Through the lens of Love Letters and Music City, I want to capture how Soul Food Poetry Cafe intertwines the art of spoken word with the soulful sounds of music, creating a tapestry of experiences that resonate across all ages and backgrounds in Nashville.
So, here’s your invitation: Follow along as we continue this journey of bringing awareness to Soul Food Poetry Cafe. Dive into the behind-the-scenes moments with me on Instagram at @SoulFoodPoetryCafe and @PublicistLakeithea. Let’s celebrate the power of storytelling, music, and poetry together.
Here’s to more love letters, more music, and more magic in Music City!
